Rental Policy
Traffic S.A. – Rental Terms & Conditions
Traffic S.A. strongly recommends that all renters carefully review the following General Terms & Conditions, as well as the specific terms stated in the rental agreement signed at the time of vehicle collection. These terms are available in both the local language and English for your convenience.
General Rental Conditions
Driving Licence
The driver must hold a valid full driving licence for a minimum of three (3) years prior to the rental date.
Minimum Rental Duration
The minimum rental period is twenty-four (24) hours.
A grace period of up to one (1) hour is allowed. Beyond this period, an additional full rental day will be charged.
Fines & Violations
All fines, traffic violations, and administrative penalties incurred during the rental period are the sole responsibility of the renter and/or driver.
Vehicle Availability
Traffic S.A. reserves the right to provide a vehicle of similar or higher category in the event that the originally booked vehicle is unavailable.
Collection & Delivery
Collection and delivery services are provided free of charge for all vehicle categories, subject to prior arrangement.
Use Outside Greece
Vehicles may not be taken outside the borders of Greece without prior written authorization from Traffic S.A.
Sea Transport
Transport of the vehicle by sea (ferry or other vessel) is not permitted without prior written authorization from Traffic S.A.
Financial Responsibility & Security Deposit
A security deposit is required for all rentals and serves as a guarantee against any potential charges arising during the rental period.
The renter is financially responsible for:
- Any damage to the vehicle
- Damage to tires, rims, undercarriage, and interior
- Loss, theft, or misuse of the vehicle
- Any additional charges resulting from negligence or breach of terms
Any such costs will be covered partially or fully from the security deposit. In the event that the total cost exceeds the deposit amount, the renter remains liable for the full outstanding balance.
Important:
Damages or incidents resulting from violations of the Greek Traffic Code (including but not limited to driving under the influence) are not subject to any limitation of liability and remain the full responsibility of the renter.
Rental Benefits
All rentals include:
- 24% VAT
- Unlimited kilometers
- 24-hour emergency phone support
- 24-hour roadside assistance
- Vehicle replacement in case of mechanical breakdown
- No hidden charges at the rental desk
- Delivery and collection at airport, hotel, or company locations
Cancellation Policy
1. Partially Prepaid Reservations
- More than 7 days before pick-up: Full refund of the deposit
- 6 to 3 days before pick-up: 50% refund of the deposit
- Less than 3 days before pick-up: No refund
- No-show: No refund
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within approximately 7 business days.
2. Fully Prepaid Reservations
- More than 7 days before pick-up: Full refund
- 6 to 3 days before pick-up: 50% refund
- Less than 3 days before pick-up: No refund
- No-show: No refund
Refunds are processed to the original payment method within approximately 7 business days.
Prohibited Use, Violations & Early Termination
The renter and any authorized driver must operate the vehicle in full compliance with all applicable laws and these terms.
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substances
- Reckless or negligent driving
- Any violation of the Greek Traffic Code
- Use by unauthorized drivers
- Use of the vehicle for illegal purposes
In the event of any such violation:
1. Immediate Termination
Traffic S.A. reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement immediately without notice.
2. No Refund Policy
No refund will be issued for any unused rental period following a violation or termination due to breach of terms.
3. Authority Seizure
If the vehicle is seized, impounded, or held by authorities, Traffic S.A. bears no responsibility for loss of use or any resulting inconvenience.
4. Full Financial Liability
The renter remains fully responsible for:
- All fines and legal penalties
- Towing, storage, and administrative costs
- Loss of use of the vehicle
- Any damage to the vehicle
5. Deposit & Liability
All costs will be deducted from the security deposit. If costs exceed the deposit, the renter is liable for the remaining balance.
6. Non-Transferability
The rental agreement cannot be transferred to another driver under any circumstances once a violation has occurred or the agreement has been terminated.
